As concerned Catholic men, we answer the call of our faith to protect the lives of those who cannot defend themselves. We recognize the need to protect the unborn, the elderly, and others who are at risk in our society.
Our guidance for addressing the protection of human life comes from the Church's precepts as summarized in the Works of Mercy. All of these works are associated with honoring God's human creation. These are also associated with Christ's message, "whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me" Matthew 25:35-40
The Corporal Works of Mercy are:
- To give drink to the thirsty;
- To harbour the harbourless;
The Spiritual Works of Mercy are:
- To instruct the ignorant ;
- To counsel the doubtful ;
- To bear wrongs patiently;
- To forgive offences willingly;
- To comfort the afflicted;
- To pray for the living and the dead.
